The workshop is delivered based on Solution Focus approach, briefly outlined below:
Collect best hopes for the day (aim of the workshop, rules of the day)
Brainstorming about preferred future – jointly defining THE DREAM TEAM / FUTURE
Micro-analyzing and learning from the team’s past success in dealing with similar issues
Energizer – practice positive feedback with the positive ‘’gossip’’ activity – for a boost of happy chemicals :-) (mutual positive feedback among members builds trust and openness)
Reframing complaints and negativity into desired behaviours
Defining the building blocks – TEAM’S CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS. The critical factors will be analysed in the workshop – progress scale for each success factor
Building on what works – finding resources and team strengths
Identify next steps – encourage to move forward
Inspiring action – individual objectives, appreciation and needs are set and communicated
The Solution Focus approach aims to discover “what works” in a given situation, simply and practically.
The emphasis is building on strengths:
Directing the attention towards those moments and actions that are already working
And do more of the same
Further focus is on recognizing signs of progress: build on small and achievable successes.
In competency development, it means practicing small behaviours one at a time.
‘’In general, each individual is well-intentioned, but most of the time, when you put several individuals together, the result is far below expectations. Why? Because the intentions created by their expectations are not aligned.
Therefore, in order to gain synergy from the minds of smart people, it requires an exercise of analysing the problem, identifying the common vision, skills and resources in the team and then building the collective mental puzzle that transforms the visions into reality. This complex exercise, which is called #TeamCoaching, can be done easily if you have the recipe for it and a good facilitator.
For us, Gabriela Hanc from AIMS Timișoara was the 'master chef' who orchestrated this recipe very well in our 'kitchen'!'' 😊
