We were inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — usually a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections.

However, what we see in it is the possibility of repairing broken relationships - with willingness to look beyond the surface, with positive intent, empathy and, of course, emotional intelligence. 😊

The training covers ...

  • Benefits of emotional intelligence

  • Understand psychological needs and basic emotions (their make-up, connection to psychological needs and the message they contain)

  • Uncover the motivation behind behaviours when things are going well and during conflict, based on individual Motivational Value System (to be explored with Strengths Deployment Inventory® - SDI®)

  • Learn to adapt individual communication style to facilitate conversations with stakeholders (clients, bosses, colleagues) that have different Motivational Value Systems (different needs and expectations)

  • Emotionally intelligent feedback

  • What makes conversations difficult (opposing views, strong emotions, high stakes, a perceived threat to self-worth)

  • Difficult interactions made easy with SDI®: conflict dynamics (conflict stages and triggers for each personality type, emotional reactions), recognize own role in the problem, identify unmet needs and underlying motivations of the other person

  • Anticipate and prevent difficult conversations / conflicts

  • Identify approaches to conflict: 1. assert, 2. retreat and analyze or 3. accommodate

  • Manage yourself (self-regulation), the other person and the relationship

  • Learn to express your feelings and negotiate your needs (non-violent communication)

  • Maintain safety and an effective dialogue during a difficult conversation – empathy, active listening, asking thoughtful questions

  • Activities: simulations (scenarios), role plays

Do you want to make your work-life easier, more productive and hassle-free by handling difficult interactions and relationships in an emotionally-intelligent way?
